the best of 2007

It's the 2nd of February, most prolly not the most appropriate of times to get into this, but my mood's been altogether too gloomsome this past month that i figured it was time to just stop and look at what i have to be glad for.
So, here's my (belated) "Best of 2007" List—the best moments 2007 brought:
—catching and buying fish: this was really fun, chasing around pretty fish in the big tank and giving them weird names and stories, like prince charming, and alain (ah lang). lol. even though it was sad when TWO batches of them (heh, they sound like cookies..) died, it was kinda fun arranging a 'funeral' for dear alain.
—EN3226: this is one of those classes that will always have a special place in my heart. my first 3000 mod, which freaked me out for practically the whole sem, yes, but i also made good friends in this class, and learnt a lot. and if it hadn't been for prof yong and prof phillips, i'd prolly never have given R+J a second chance, or enjoyed Lear as much as i did, Ian McKellen notwithstanding
—EU1101E: what can i say? this was prolly the funnest history mod to date, what with the simulation preparations, 'pinky and the brain' jokes, questions of sexual orientation, the list goes on and on. not to mention frantic marathon sessions of note-scribbling, trying in vain to keep up with dr. kelly's breakneck speed, italian jokes, and *ahem* other lecture-time amusements.
—HY1101E: this was fun too, especially the lame (repeated) jokes by some-of-us-know-who. also great was that A for the research paper. :)
—the random times in eeling's room watching random things. or the fewer times in my room, talking about random things or telling yo mama jokes—or trying to, in eeling's case..
—Yishun ramly burger: do i need to elaborate? my first ramly burger, and it was soooo good. oozy cheese and beef-juice and egg, mmm.
—the tigers project: okay, so this wasn't fun per se, but it was sorta fun 'living' in the microfilm room with maryam and jermaine, watching tvb dvds or crunchyroll as we whizzed through reels of recordak. the $2000+ didn't hurt either..
—obsessing over georgia's uber cute rabbit babies and finding reasons to go visit them. SO CUTE! haha.
—Phantom of the Opera: how could i miss this! fantastic performance, plus of course my surprise birthday party, complete with a huuge cake (thanks again, gid) and the 'after party' at adam road food center.
—King Lear! completely mind-blowingly good. Ian McKellen is out of this world!
—EN3223: this was a great module, one that i totally loved. dr. ang was great, and so were most of my tutorial mates. this was one lit module where the standard was really pretty high, which i think pushed me to go higher. definitely the high point of sem3 was when dr. ang told me she really enjoyed reading my essay. even though the overall grade was marred by the abyssmal 3/10 for the mcq test, i really loved this module, and totally looked forward to the tuts every week.
—EN2241: this was a totally cool and really fun module. i got to watch films i would otherwise not have watched—some of which i'd never heard of. this is the module that totally fanned my spark of an interest in film into something bigger and more serious. ellweev rocks.
—the go-out-all-night-and-get-drunk times with TWF and the OTHER weekend friend. haha. oooh, cryptic. but those were absolutely bashingly fun times. :))
—Macaron high tea at Macaron. mmm. sinfully, extravagantly fantastically good. violet and salty caramel macarons are definitely on my 'last meal' menu.
—genting. definitely genting. a few days away from the hellishness that was becoming my life, spent in the peace and serenity of our cloudy mountaintop, bliss. pure bliss.
well, i guess 2007 wasn't that bad after all. i cannot believe i'm into sem4, and after this sem is over i'll be a third year student. man.
okay, reminicing time is quite over, it's time for me to curl up in bed with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".
nights.
