Well, the year is 21 hours from ending, and i thought this would be a good time to wrap up/look back on the year.
got back from genting night before last, and boy was it a totallly fun three and a half days. we stayed in the most kitsch, garish hotel, where the toilet stall was so small you'd knock your elbows on the walls if you stuck them out, but it was clean, and the bed was v comfy. and we were so high up in the atmosphere that there was almost always a cloud hanging around outside our window. coolsome. the genting experience was so excellent. the theme park also rocked. space shots, dudes! three times the next time! haha.
and well, christmas! i've only gotten two gifts so far, but they've been v v cool. maryam gave me a copy of "Gentleman's Agreement" on DVD, and can i just say, YAY! whee! thanks, m! greg rocks! haha. and from my mother i got a set of electronic kitchen scales, yay! haha. there's still eeling's mysterious present, and georgia's.
as for more serious things, we got our exam results back the second day we were on our foggy mountaintop. not too surprisingly—but still, very unhappily—i didn't do too well this semester: 2 As, 2 Bs and a B+, Film, Cultural Studies, Art, World and 19th Century respectively. i'm a little unsurprised at the art B, although it has made me seriously reconsider memory heritage and history next sem, but nonetheless quite sad, because a B is hardly cause for celebration. but the world one is just..pissifying! argh. i'm just irritated with the module as a whole la. the 19th entury B+ was quite a blow, since i haven't had a B for a lit module since i got to Uni, i don't think. unless i got one for EN2101E, but i don't think so. whilst it was sort of expected, seeing as it was 100% CA, i was still hoping desperately that i would scrape an A-. but i guess it was not to be. film and cultural studies i am happy with, but two As out of 5 modules is not good at all. and my cap is still a subterranean 3.87. i am really going to try for 3 As and 2 B+s next sem, hopefully that will be enough to pull the cap up to a number i can be satisfied with. which is why i am really reconsidering memory heritage and history. a) not ready for a 3000level history mod, b) not really psyched for another peleggi sem, and c) not ready or psyched for a 3000level peleggi module. plus i need to take a breadth or two. oh well, there's still time i guess.
