well, as usual, instead of studying, i'm doing a myriad of other things, like blogging. but anyway, the news is fantastic! well, to me it is, at least.
what news, you ask?

i've finally gone and stocked up on more matcha-y stuff, hopefully it'll be enough to tide me through until i have the time to go get more. and until the bleddy central coop restocks the matcha candy.

went studying with jint at the nlb yesterday, and after dinner (at NYNY, where the pancakes have, dreadfully, become quite dreadful), i took a short detour via train to the lido isetan, and restocked the matcha shelf of my pantry. figuratively, of course, since i don't have a pantry. but if i did, it'd defintely have a matcha shelf.

so i bought two more boxes of green tea melty kiss, and this time, since i didn't have to trek a looooong way in the hot sun, they made it home unmelted, with the dusting of cocoa powder around them intact and all. plus, i also got a box of (good but seriously overpriced) green tea marble pocky. soooo good. it's reminicent of the 'fran' sticks, the kind with the thicker stick, and also thicker coating. the cream is deliciously green tea-y, and absolutely beautiful, with little drizzles of chocolate contrasting gorgeously with the creamy greenness of the matcha coating.yumm. whilst i was looking at the pocky, i also saw chestnut pocky! actually, i was looking for the price of the green tea pocky, then i saw the label for 'marron pocky', and of course, immediately began excitedly looking for it. the marron pocky is delishhhh, and when you open the little pack, a most fantastic fragrance (ooh, nice alliteration there, eh? haha.) of carmelised sugar and roasty chestnuts wafts up. mmmmm. it doesn't taste very strikingly of chestnuts, which i guess is prolly cos chestnuts don't really have much of a distinct flavour in the first place. all the same, the pocky is yummsome, and dotted with little pieces of mysterious sweet, crunchy bits. not as good as the green tea pocky, but good nonetheless. it's things like this that make me glad i live in asia. i mean, true, there're lots of US and European produce that we don't get—or get a lower quality of, at an exorbitant price, and i'd truly love to have a garden with a raspberry or blueberry bush/bramble in a corner, but just as we find stuff like cacao nibs and special/limited edition hersheys/oreo/etc products enticing and bemoan the fact that we can't get them here, it's just the same for Americans and Europeans who shop online and pay like S$6 (excl. shipping) for a box of greentea melty kiss that i paid $3.30 for.

yy is contented.

perhaps too contented..contented to the point where i'm not worrying about studying, much less doing any studying.....heh. ok, ok. i'll get to it now. yes, NOW.

as a side note, just before i go and read cultural studies notes, i'm totally dreaming of a dark, dark chocolate cupcake with a matcha topping, which reminded me, i'll be looking for any excuse to go spend quality time with my microwave oven after the exams, so if anyone wants lemon stars, shorbread, whatever else, let me know! :)
