nouveau logement

Well, spent most of today moving back into hall. packing up and shifting out was bad, because there were a million and one things to pack and cart back, but moving in is just as bad, if not worse. The cleaning up part was an exercise in total grossness. The weather was so bleddy hot, and there was so much dust and hair in the room, and worst of all were extreeemely suspicious short, curly strands of hair that could only have come from one place. talk about total ICK. *shudder*
So after spending more than 3 hours covered in sweat and grime, i returned home, and after a shower, late lunch and a nap, loaded the fridge and chair and other etcs onto a friend's car (thank goodness) and drove off back to hall and put everything where it should be.
the weird thing about this new room is that it seems a lot dustier than my old one.. weird. i actually mopped it twice during the initial clean up, and then, before i left, my feet felt sort of dusty, so i mopped it again. oh well. maybe its because of the whole moving/going in and out thing. one thing's for sure, the new room is substantially bigger than the old one. even if the table is shorter. the only thing i really don't like are the windows. the blinds are annoyingly dust-y, and the whole panel-y sort of windows—the sort with the lever at the side that opens and closes the rectangular panels of glass—give me the sense of being in the geriatric ward of an ld hospital. plus, being able to clearly see—and i mean clearly: to the extent where i can see people's facial expressions—people and vice versa is rather odd. but well i guess its a trade-off for not having to climb an extra flight of steps.
we'll just have to wait and see how this new arrangement works out in the long term.
