disjointed describings of yesterday

so phantom was yesterday.
boy, was it great!!!
the phantom was reallly good, especially at all the dark and ominous parts—his voice was perfect, with that dark, velvety, sinister quality to it. and when he was all pathetic and sad, it was really...moving.
raoul was also brilliant. not the weak ponce he was in the movie version, this raoul was really good. his "can it be, can it be...Christine!" was actually convincing. haha. but also a really good voice, although at some points i thought his hand gestures were a bit..weird.
and christine. according to Jasper, there were two of them, one for the lower register and another for the higher one. i thought the low Christine was better, even when she was singing high-ish parts, because she had a more mellow voice, but only one Christine came out for curtain call. haha.
but the cast was brilliant. sigh. "all i ask of you" gave me goosebumps.
and "music of the night" was so dark and beautiful. and haunting.
and the orchestra was BRILLIANT. it really did the score justice. wow. and their conductor was this slender woman with a long silver ponytail. haha.
and the sets! omg, talk about beautiful. fantastic backdrops, excellent lighting, and a really really GORGEOUS set of wooden carving-thingies around the stage painted gold.
siiigh.
yes, phantom was excellent.
and vanessa, maryam, eeling, gideon, denise and jasper arranged a surprise for me at max brenners to celebrate me turning twenteen. haha. yeah so we (although denise couldn't come, and jasper came later) had chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate for 'dinner'. and gideon bought a HUGH 1kg cake—for 5 people, mind you—and we were trying to finish it before going in, but we couldn't..
so and then after the show, we went to adam road for prata and we girls ate SO MUCH. vanessa, eeling, denise and i ate, between us, 1 mutton chop, 1 $4 rojak, 1 roti john and 1 murtabak.
haha. more than the guys, amazingly.
but it was uber fun catching up with the guys. :)
